Its ruins are on the western hillside of Považský Inovec in the district of the village Hrádok, southeast of Nové Mesto nad Váhom. The castle is mentioned for the first time in 1270, however it is of even older origin. Most likely, the castle was built as early as in the first half of the 13th century to serve as a watch castle over the border passages. This medieval castle consisted of a four-side tower and palace surrounded by walls. The fortification system was further fortified in the 16th century. In the 17th century, the castle was repaired and expanded. In the battles of the Rákoczi uprising / 1704 – 1708 / the castle was severely damaged and has been left in ruins up to this day.
